young carers (carers under 26)
A carer is someone who looks after or provides care for a family member or friend who has a disability, a mental illness, a chronic illness or who is old and frail.
You don't have to be a certain age to be a carer. You may not even choose to be a carer. But just think about... if you're providing care to someone then you are a carer and this can happen at any age.
While providing care can be meaningful and rewarding, or just a normal part of everyday life, at time you may feel as if you have too many responsibilities and problems, and feel frustrated, angry and upset.
The Carer Support Worker at Banyule Community Health is available to support you in a range of ways, depending on what you need. This might include information, practical support and emotional support.
Just contact Service Access on 03 9450 2000 and ask to see the Carer Support Worker.
