Description of service:

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) who is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia can work with you to develop an eating plan to suit your individual needs or those of your children and provide dietary education to help you make healthy food choices.

The Dietitian can provide support and advice about:

Community Midwifery Service

Community Midwives provide the following:

  • Midwife Shared Care
  • Pre Pregnancy Counselling
  • Pregnancy Testing
  • Information on options of care
  • General childbirth related information
  • Childbirth Education (no classes at present but one to one may be available)
  • Breastfeeding Support

Community Health Nursing

  • Providing outreach as well as appointment based services from both centres

LIFT stepped care model for mental health

Banyule Community Health is a service provider for the LIFT stepped care model for mental health.

Carers Support

The Banyule Community Health Carer Support Program provides support to carers who are experiencing difficulties related to their caring role. Carers are people who support a family member or friend who is frail or aged, disabled, has a chronic health condition or has a mental illness. Carer Support is provided by an experienced Social Worker.

Aboriginal Health Team

Banyule Community Health Aboriginal Health Team (BHATS) has a team of seven Aboriginal staff who deliver services and assist in running programs and groups locally both from the Community health service and at Barbunnin Beek gathering Place.
