Description of service:

The North East Housing Service (NEHS) believes that everyone has a right to housing which is affordable, safe and of good quality.

We aim to provide a service which listens to and responds to the needs of the community and respects the rights of service users.

The NEHS is an organisation working in the North East region of Melbourne in the local government areas of Darebin, Whittlesea, Banyule and Nillumbik

North East Housing Service provides 2 distinct services:

Housing Information and Referral which assists people experiencing housing difficulties or homelessness.

Property and Tenancy Management of short term emergency and supported accommodation properties.

The HIR worker is available Monday & Wednesday.

What we do

• Housing information and advice
• Advocacy in sorting out housing problems
• Referral to emergency housing or supported housing
• Referral to other community or government services
• Financial assistance (when available) with rent arrears, rent-in-advance, removalist costs, etc.
