Intake

Description of Service
The majority of services at BCH are now located within a centralized Intake system. These services include:physiotherapy, podiatry, adult and paediatric occupational therapy, paediatric speech pathology, counselling, drug and aclohol counselling, carer support, dietetics, diabetes educator, and community nursing.

The intake worker can also help a young person with an assisted referral to appropriate youth services in the Banyule/Nillumbik area as part of the Integrated Youth Services System.

Intake is staffed by two full-time workers who will ensure that each person is assessed according to eligibility criteria for both Banyule Community Health and any other discipline-specific criteria. A discipline-specific risk assessment is completed for each client. The client is provided information on fees and service location. If a client is ineligible for service at BCH, then they will be provided with alternative service options and assisted referrals to other services if requested. A client may also be provided with health information
