Dental Services

Description of service:

A full range of dental services are provided to the community including:

Early Childhood Oral Health Program

  • Eligibility: preschool children 0-5 years of age
  • Cost:
    • Free for Health Care Card/Pension card holders.
    • $27.50 for non Health Care Card/Pension card holders
  • Waiting time: Next available appointment (no waiting list)

Youth Dental Program

  • Eligibility: Students in secondary school (years 9, 10, 11, 12) Adolescents aged 14-18 who have left formal schooling
  • Cost: Free for Health Care Card/Pension card holders
  • Waiting time: Next available appointment (no waiting list)

Community Dental Program

  • Eligibility: Health Care Card/Pension Card holders over 18 years
  • Cost:
    • $22.50 minimum to a maximum of $90 (excluding dentures)
    • Emergency course of care: $22.50
    • General course of care: $22.50 to $90
    • Specialist services (dentures and oral surgery) will incur a separate fee
  • Waiting time: Patients must place their name on the waiting list for general care and dentures. Emergency appointments are made based on the emergency triage.

Undergraduate Teaching Program

Melbourne University School of Dental Science. Students provide dental treatment under the supervision of a qualified dentist.

  • Eligibility: Health Care Card/Pension Card holders
  • Cost: Free for Health Care Card/Pension card holders
  • Waiting time: Next available appointment (no waiting list)

Private Dental Program

  • Eligibility: non Health Care Card/Pension card holders
  • Hours of operation: 5.00pm - 7.30pm Monday and Tuesday
