Paula Russell started at Banyule Community Health in April 2012 as a Aboriginal Health Allied Health Assistant Trainee. Paula, a proud Yorta Yorta woman and local mother with previous experience in the health sector was initially nervous about the role at Banyule Community Health.
Paula has excelled in her studies and helped BCH make significant steps in building a stronger relationship with the local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community. Paula has been a member of the team that has led a Koorie Debutante Ball in November 2012, establish the Mentoring Project, Gathering Place and Food Coop as well as providing an essential link between local ATSI clients and the services at Banyule Community Health. Paula completed her studies in 2013 and is now a qualified Allied health Assistant. Paula continues her work at BCH supporting the Aboriginal Health Team and creating better links between Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander clients and BCH services.
