Banyule Community Health win Primary Health Service of the Year

The Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Banyule Community Health was awarded Primary Health Service of the Year by the Minster for Health, Hon. David Davis on Monday 13th October 2014 at the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards.

This is a truly significant achievement for BCH who were finalists in 2013, but have never before been awarded this honour.  It acknowledges the hard work and dedication of our board, staff, students and volunteers over many years and the commitment to continuous improvement.  The award is judged by a panel of experts from the health sector and chaired by Rob Knowles, former Victorian State MP and Minister for Health.  The awards recognise innovation and excellence in providing high quality services and improving client health outcomes.  It was evident at the awards ceremony last night that only the truly passionate services and great innovators are acknowledged at such an occasion.  We shouldn’t underestimate what we have achieved.

The awards concluded on our year with following statement:

BCH is leading the way in demonstrating best practice public healthcare through its work with a diverse and complex community.  Its approaches to involving clients and the community in their own healthcare, as well as governance and operations of the health service, are reaping real rewards for the provision of healthcare in the Banyule area.

Congratulations to the board, management, staff, students and volunteers who love their work and their contribution to making Banyule Community Health the best it can be.

This award belongs to everyone at Banyule Community Health.
