The Mental Health Nurse Incentive program is an exciting new program designed to assist GPs and Psychiatrists in managing patients with mental health illness.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Registered & Credentialed (ACMHN) Mental Health Nurse to join our agency and work with a multidisciplinary team.
We have 8 GPs, 5 Nurses and a Practice Coordinator and this role focuses on coordinating care of patients with Mental Health issues.
We are looking for someone with initiative and skills in the following areas:
- Extensive experience in mental health in a range of clinical settings
- Advanced clinical skills
- Knowledge of integrated models of nursing case management
- Demonstrated competency in community based assessment and management of people in the acute phase of mental illness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level organisational and problem solving skills
- Commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team
- A sound knowledge of and commitment to practice within the Mental Health Act (1986), the national Mental Health Standards and other relevant legislation
- Drug and alcohol rehab experience would be an advantage
- Current Australian Drivers licence & Police Check required
Employment with the MHN Initiative Program is subject to the provision of ongoing funding by the Commonwealth to June 2012.
